Elisabeth Sophie Adam, born in Hong Kong in 1998, studied law at the University of Passau as a recipient of a Max Weber Program scholarship and graduated with high honors. She specialized in European and international law.
Ms. Adam focused her legal career on international law early on. She earned the “Certificate of Studies in European Comparative and International Law” from the University of Passau. She also completed a one-year study abroad program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, focusing on international human rights protection and international humanitarian law. Her strong interest in human rights and gender equality also led her to undertake a long-term internship at the women’s rights organization Itach-Ma’aki in Tel Aviv.
She gained practical experience particularly in the areas of immigration law and human rights. For several years, she provided legal counsel at the Refugee Law Clinic in Passau. She further deepened her expertise in human rights protection by successfully participating in the Helga Pedersen Moot Court on the European Convention on Human Rights, where her team was awarded a prize for the best plaintiff’s brief.
While still a student, Elisabeth Adam worked as a research assistant in the field of comparative constitutional law and participated in comparative legal research projects on the rule of law and case law.
In addition to her studies and legal clerkship, she has been actively involved in civil society for many years, particularly in the areas of gender equality and environmental protection. This long-standing commitment shapes her view of the law as a tool for protecting freedom, equality, and democratic participation.
During a one-year international volunteer program in Ecuador after graduating from high school, she worked as a teaching assistant at a school for children and adolescents with special needs.
Since 2025, she has been a legal trainee at the Nuremberg Higher Regional Court and has been assisting gençer & coll. on a part-time basis. She specializes in cases with an international dimension as well as in selected public law and human rights matters, enriching the firm with her international perspective and her precise, scholarly approach.
