Once the approval process has been successfully completed, the project can finally proceed. However, before that, visas for the employees must be applied for using the Contract Worker Card. This is because, before commencing work, approval for the residence permit must be applied for at the Federal Employment Agency in Stuttgart. These cards are then reviewed for each employee and issued by the authority.
These cards are valid only for the execution of a specific service contract, generally at one operational site. They are issued for the estimated duration of the work required to fulfill the service contract. There are limitations regarding the maximum duration of these activities. Furthermore, for repeated activities by employees, maximum limits apply within a two-year period.
After the Contract Worker Cards have been sent, they must be presented as part of a visa application at the relevant foreign representation. This generally ensures a swift issuance process.
