FAQs
Yes, that is possible and even important. To assess if and how we can assist you, a non-binding telephone inquiry is advisable.
If we can assist you, you will promptly receive an appointment for a personal consultation with the lawyer responsible for your issue in Nuremberg or at one of our other locations. We will explicitly inform you in advance about the costs of legal advice.
Our clients are generally explicitly informed by us about our fees, for example in legal disputes and any potential cost risks. As soon as legal advice is provided for an individual legal problem, it is subject to a fee, in which case our firm charges a flat fee of up to EUR 190.00 plus VAT, totaling EUR 226.10, for private individuals during an initial personal consultation.
For out-of-court consultations, we work with cost estimates based on hourly rates or flat-fee agreements. Otherwise, costs are calculated according to the value in dispute, in accordance with the Lawyers' Remuneration Act (RVG).
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide free individual legal advice for specific cases. Even a matter that appears brief requires thorough research and precise legal classification. Therefore, we cannot offer an assessment or answer individual questions without charge.
Furthermore, lawyers are not permitted to provide legal advice free of charge, as we are legally responsible for the information we provide.
In many situations, legal representation is not legally mandated. Particularly when interacting with authorities, individuals are generally expected to manage their own affairs initially.
However, certain actions can often have unforeseen consequences for individuals without legal expertise. This applies, for example, to out-of-court claims, contracts that are being drafted or have already been signed, and disputes concerning contractual terms. In such situations, a lawyer with experience in the relevant legal area can provide assistance, offer advice, and present alternative solutions.
For instance, it is mandatory to engage a lawyer in civil law court proceedings held before the Regional Court (Landgericht) or a higher court, and in family disputes, even before the Local Court (Amtsgericht). In these specific cases, you cannot make statements without legal representation, and any statements made without a lawyer will not be considered by the court. We also provide detailed information on these requirements during initial consultations.
To provide the most precise assessment possible, we require all documents pertaining to your case. Based on your inquiry, we will inform you of the specific essential documents when scheduling your initial consultation appointment in Nuremberg.
The coverage provided by your legal expenses insurance depends on the specific areas of law included in your policy. For instance, you might have coverage solely for traffic law, or a comprehensive package that includes protection as an employee, property owner, or landlord. Certain legal areas are not insurable; for example, intentional criminal offenses are typically not covered under criminal law policies.
The specific risks covered depend on your individual insurance contract. If you find it difficult to determine the coverage, you can usually clarify this by calling your insurance provider and providing your policy number. Please be aware that, according to the General Legal Protection Insurance Conditions (ARB), which govern all legal expenses insurance contracts, you have the right to choose your own lawyer and are not obligated to follow any recommendations for a specific lawyer or law firm.
Should any uncertainties remain, our law firm can also submit an inquiry on your behalf.
An initial consultation is intended to provide a general assessment of a specific life situation. These consultations are always conducted verbally and do not involve a detailed review of documents or the provision of a written statement or assessment.
Our law firm is, of course, able to prepare legal opinions or written statements concerning specific questions or factual situations. For such services, it is advisable to establish individual agreements, where fees are determined either as a flat rate or on an hourly basis, depending on the complexity and effort involved. These types of fees will be explained and offered during an initial consultation with a lawyer.
Furthermore, should you decide to engage our law firm, the initial consultation fee will always be fully credited towards our services.
