Ordering an MPU: Is it lawful?

An MPU (also colloquially known as an 'idiot test') may be ordered if there are facts that call your fitness to drive into question. This can be due to physical or mental impairments, or due to offenses involving addictive substances (alcohol, drugs, etc.) in road traffic, as well as repeated misconduct in road traffic (e.g., coercion).

While there are clear and unchallengeable guidelines for ordering an MPU, there are also borderline cases that allow authorities a certain degree of discretion in deciding whether to order an MPU.

Take advantage of the opportunity to receive comprehensive advice early on! Our lawyers will inform you about the legal requirements.
