Cüneyt Gençer, born in Turkey in 1969 and having emigrated to Germany in 1973, completed his law studies at the University of Bayreuth in 1995 with the First State Examination in Law. During this time, he also gained experience through additional economic studies at the University of Bayreuth and completed several internships at renowned law firms in Turkey (Avukat Sırrı Dalkılıç in Kuşadası, specializing in criminal law, and the law firm Türkoğlu & Partner in Istanbul, specializing in commercial and corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, patent, trademark, and licensing law, and labor law) and Australia (Bowen | Lagois Lawyers in Cairns-Queensland, specializing in criminal law).
Following a two-year legal traineeship at the Higher Regional Court of Nuremberg, he passed the Second State Examination in Law in 1998, focusing on international private law and European law. Additionally, in 1999/2000, after successfully passing state examinations in Darmstadt, he was publicly appointed and generally sworn in as a translator and interpreter for the Turkish language, with accreditations in Germany (Nuremberg) and Turkey (Istanbul). Upon being admitted as a lawyer, he founded gc.rechtsanwälte in 1998. In June 2018, he was awarded the title of Specialist Lawyer for Criminal Law due to his exceptional expertise.
