Turkey is well on its way to becoming one of the most important economic powers. In Europe, it is already among the top ten, and globally, among the top twenty economies. The Turkish government is striving to reduce the economy's dependence on exports by increasing foreign direct investment in the country. The nation on the Bosphorus has become significantly more stable and is currently experiencing the highest economic growth in Europe.

Turkey aims to align its commercial law with that of the EU. Significant legislative changes have already been implemented. A comprehensive reform of the Commercial Code has been passed, and corporate law has been harmonized with Central European models. Turkey has acceded to the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, and a modern investment law ensures extensive equal treatment for domestic and foreign investors, simplifying foreign investments.
