Guest Lecture at Munich University of Applied Sciences - Establishment of German Companies in Turkey
Guest Article by Attorney Cüneyt Gençer at Munich University of Applied Sciences
April 10, 2013 from 1:45 PM • 4:00 PM • Am Stadtpark 20, 81243 Munich, Room: LO 309
Intercultural competence is a key to business success in our era of globalization. Cultural diversity in international business offers significant opportunities and great advantages, but it can also lead to misunderstandings and conflicts. The negative impact on the success of companies or organizations due to cultural differences can be substantial.
However, in hindsight, personnel or situational factors are often mistakenly blamed for these issues. This cultural diversity can, however, be better utilized as a potential asset and resource to avoid misunderstandings with international business partners. In this context, the seminar will demonstrate, using Turkey – an emerging market and G-20 member – as an example, how to interact with Turkish business partners and how to manage employees.
