Ute Anna Docter, born in Erlangen in 1998, has been a trainee attorney since 2025 and has joined the team at gençer & coll. Attorneys at Law and Tax Advisors, specializing in inheritance, corporate, immigration, and criminal law.

She studied law at Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and graduated in 2023, passing the First State Examination with honors. She specialized in “State and Administration” during her university studies and achieved fully satisfactory results in both the state and university examinations. In 2025, she took the Second State Examination at the Higher Regional Court of Nuremberg, which she passed with honors, thereby qualifying as a legal assessor (Ass. jur.).

Even during her legal clerkship, Ms. Docter established a clear profile in the areas central to our firm. During her placements at the Erlangen Local Court (civil law), the Nuremberg-Fürth Public Prosecutor’s Office (criminal law), the City of Fürth, and the Ansbach Administrative Court (administrative law), as well as at the renowned law firm Dr. Beckstein and Associates, she gained extensive practical experience in civil, criminal, and public law. During her elective placement at the EUStA Center in Munich, she also deepened her understanding of cross-border criminal law and European law issues.

Her interest in commercial and property law structures—particularly as they relate to inheritance and corporate law—was already evident during her studies and her practical training: Internships with notaries at Hauptmarkt 1 in Nuremberg, at the Nuremberg Local Court, and at GBI AG (Gesellschaft für Beteiligungen und Immobilienentwicklung), as well as her work as a student trainee in the legal department of GBI Holding AG, provided her with a solid understanding of real estate and corporate structures, contract drafting, and the intersection of law and business. This experience forms a solid foundation for her work in providing advice on inheritance and corporate law, particularly regarding succession structures, corporate investments, and estate planning.

In addition to her practical placements, Ms. Docter worked as a student assistant at a law firm and as a grader for practice exams for the First State Examination—both at the Hemmer Law Review Course and at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg. Her intensive work with exam papers honed her ability to analyze complex issues in a structured manner, develop clear expert solutions, and formulate them precisely.

Ms. Docter has strong language skills: in addition to German, her native language, she speaks English at the C1 level (including legal terminology), Spanish at the B2 level, and French at the B1 level. She volunteers at the Lebenshof Gollachostheim – Tierrechte Aktiv e.V., which further underscores her sense of responsibility and justice.

Since February 2026, Ms. Docter has been contributing her legal expertise, structured and analytical approach, and practical experience—particularly in matters of inheritance law, corporate law, and immigration law—to the firm of gençer & coll. She is also particularly passionate about defending and representing clients in criminal law matters.
