Iulia-Alexandra Mladin, born in 1996 in Craiova (Romania), grew up in Romania until her teenage years. At the age of 14, she immigrated to Germany. At the age of 13—knowing that her family would be moving to Germany—she began learning German online with her mother. After one year at Schwabacher Straße Middle School in Fürth, she made a smooth transition to Pirckheimer Gymnasium in Nuremberg, where, after only five years in Germany, she graduated with the highest grade (1.0).
Ms. Mladin completed her law degree at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, one of Germany’s leading law schools. There, she earned a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) in 2020 and passed the First State Examination in Law with high honors in 2022. Her studies focused on the fundamentals of law, which she supplemented with a study abroad program at Istanbul Bilgi University (International Program, the commercial hub of Istanbul) in Turkey. While still a student, she was accepted into the German National Academic Foundation—Germany’s most prestigious scholarship organization, which supports only a small group of students who excel both academically and personally.
During her legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Nuremberg, which she completed in 2025 with distinction upon passing the Second State Examination, Ms. Mladin focused primarily on international and public law. She completed rotations at the Regional Court of Nuremberg-Fürth, the Nuremberg-Fürth Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Roth District Office, and a law firm specializing in administrative law. She completed her elective placement in the “International Trade Affairs” division at the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Consumer Protection in Berlin, where she worked on issues related to international trade and commercial law. In addition, she gained practical experience at law firms specializing in commercial law in Hamburg, Munich, and Bucharest, particularly in insolvency law, commercial and distribution law, and labor law.
Ms. Mladin has developed a particular expertise in asylum and immigration law: From 2017 to 2020, she served as a legal adviser at the Bucerius Law School Law Clinic, where she advised people with migration and refugee backgrounds. Her own migration background, having learned German at an early age, and growing up in two different legal and cultural contexts give her a deep understanding of the realities of her clients’ lives.
Ms. Mladin has an exceptionally broad range of linguistic and intercultural skills. In addition to German, she is fluent in spoken and written Romanian, her native language. She has very good English skills (Cambridge English Certificate C1, subject-specific foreign language exam at Bucerius Law School) as well as advanced French skills, as evidenced by the “Diplôme de français professionnel juridique” (B2) and the written French section of the Abitur exam. She also has a basic knowledge of Turkish, which enhances her intercultural competence when interacting with clients from Turkish-speaking regions.
Even during her school years, Ms. Mladin received numerous awards for her linguistic and literary talent: she was honored with prizes from the Romanian Museum of Literature in Iași and placed first and third in the national competition for Romanian language and literature. She continues to nurture this special affinity for language to this day as an author: alongside her professional career, she devotes herself to creative writing in both German and Romanian, thereby cultivating her dual literary and cultural roots.
Since March 2026, Ms. Mladin has been contributing her legal expertise, international education, and extensive intercultural experience to gençer & coll., particularly in cases involving immigration law, estate planning, corporate law, and cross-border matters. Her background, which spans Romania and Germany with a period of study in Turkey, her excellent language skills, her solid education at Bucerius Law School and Istanbul Bilgi University, and her experience working in an international environment make her a particularly valuable point of contact for clients whose issues lie at the intersection of law, language, and culture.
